Discover how we are conducting baseline studies of Mexico’s most important oceans.
Offshore environmental services in Mexico are crucial for balancing economic growth with the protection of marine and coastal environments. Involving a variety of activities aimed at assessing and managing the environmental impacts, particularly in the oil and gas sectors.
What was AECOM’s role?
We conduct offshore environmental and social baseline studies, along with environmental impact and risk assessments, in various shallow and deep-water blocks. This included providing permitting services for oil and gas supermajors for submission to ASEA and SENER (Mexican regulatory authorities) as part of the oil exploration phase approval. The scope of work also encompassed an environmental permitting roadmap, stakeholder engagement plan, hazardous and special waste management plans, oil spill response plans, and modeling for drill cuttings, underwater sound, and oil spills. Additionally, we provided support for SASISOPA during the conformation and implementation stages.
